Hello, as promised, I wanted to show you all the room boxes I made..First is the childs room, to photograph my older children/ dollhouse miniatures in, it is complete, My thanks to Angela, my sweet friend who sent me this hangtag..it works perfectly for a wall hanging,, the miniature books work nicely as a small bedside table, and the owl earrings make great wall decor..don't you think? The wall plaque is part of an old brooch. The two "miniature matching pictures on the left side wall, are earrings too! The nursery still needs a few final touches, pictures and decor on the walls mainly, but both rooms are finished for the most part. I used coasters for the rugs in the nursery, and on top of the dresser, are miniature christmas ornaments for a tiny tiny tree, I just took the gold hangers off of them, and think they look great as table top figurines! I talked to my sister, LeeAnn this morning, and told her I would show the rooms, so she could see what I did, so even though the nursery isn't completely finished, I wanted to show it. Love you Lee! xoxo Christel
These are charming room boxes and perfect settings for photographing your wonderful dolls. I'm in the process of creating furniture for a larger room box of sorts for photographing my work. If mine turns out even half as nice as yours and I'll be thrilled.
ReplyDeleteHappy Labor Day weekend my dear friend. xoxox
Hi Maddy! So glad you stopped in What scale are you working in? I might have something's you could have for your room
ReplyDeleteHi Christel,
ReplyDeleteThe scale I'm working in is not common. Since my figures are on average 10 to 12 inches tall the funiture I'm making is Maddy scale. For example with the rocker I'm working on the top of the seat measures 3 1/2" from the floor and it is 8" to the top of the chair back. What scale would you call that if not Maddy scale? It might make this room box a bit more difficult to put together to make it look real since I'm working out of the norm.
Have a great week my friend. xox
Dear Maddy, you know on a 1:12 scale a figure (adult male) would average 6 to 6.5 inches tall, so maybe your scale is 1:6 if most of your dolls are 10-12 inches tall..I'm sure you can find things in that 1/2 scale size, I guess I spoke too soon, I really don't have anything that size..I'll be on the lookout at the thrift stores, sometimes there are bigger items there! XOXOX Christel
