Hello everyone. You know I didn't realize the monkeys were blue from Oz, not until I was commissioned to create one! Boy, was this ever fun! His jacket and hat are hand painted, that was no easy task! SOLD
Christel He is fantastic!! Now that is a boat load of work. Painting the hat and jacket must have been a real challenge.. I know you work so small.. this little guy is really great. It's official... I believe you never sleep.. I love the collection you have done thus far. Can't wait to see more. BRAVO dear friend. Penny
He is excellent work, Christel! Have you used textile paint on his hat and jacket, Christel? It is so beautifully done: it just look real. The monkey is another gorgeous piece of your art! Hugs, Ilona
OH Christel...I am BLOWN AWAY by your Oz series!!! Being hunkered down here at the farm and in the Doll Room, I sadly have missed seeing your work because I have been MIA from Blogland :(. But what a JOY to see how you have continued to skillfully hone your doll craft. These pieces are wonderfully done and resemble the original cast beautifully!!! BRAVO my sweet friend...you are to be highly commended...love always and forever, Rose
Dear penny, You are always so sweet to me! I truly do appreciate each and every comment you leave. It is so encouraging to have fellow artist cheer us on, isn't it? Thank you sweet friend, and yes, I do sleep..just not much at one time thanks to menopause..lol :) Much Love, Christel
Dear llona, Thank you so much for stopping in to see him. I spent nearly half the time chuckling at this one! He is silly looking, but I think he looks pretty close to the character in the film. By the way, I painted the jacket with acrylic paints, and a toothpick! :) xoxo Christel
Dear Rose, You have no idea how much your encouragement means to me. As you know, I consider you a mentor, and wonderful friend. You know I am one of your biggest fans. I know the ShooHoos are keeping you busy, as if the actual children aren't enough! Thank you so much for taking the time to come and visit. I wish we could see more of your wonderful, inspiring pieces on your blog, but understand sometimes, there are just not enough hours in the day! Much Love, Always, Christel
